What Are Letters of Credit Used For?
A Letter of Credit is a secure trade finance instrument issued by a bank to provide payment assurance to a seller or beneficiary, either locally or internationally, once all agreed transaction requirements have been fulfilled. It provides confidence to both buyers and suppliers by reducing payment risks and supporting secure completion of trade agreements.

To apply for a Letter of Credit, applicants are required to provide:

  • A formal request or Letter of Credit application
  • A signed supplier agreement or commercial contract
  • A satisfactorily maintained current account with a minimum of 6 months’ activity
  • Details of the goods or products to be financed
  • Information on proposed warehousing arrangements
  • Acceptable security or collateral
  • Minimum required contribution of 30%
  • The preferred Letter of Credit type (Confirmed / Unconfirmed)
  • Complete beneficiary bank details

Bill Collections

What Are Bill Collections Used For?
Bill Collection is a structured service that helps businesses recover outstanding payments from customers or commercial partners. Where required, the Bank can manage the collection process on behalf of clients, ensuring that payment follow-ups are handled professionally, efficiently, and in line with agreed procedures.

To request a Bill Collection service, applicants are required to provide:

  • A formal request letter
  • A current account in good standing with a minimum of 6 months’ banking activity

Currency Shipments

What Are Currency Shipments Used For?
Currency Shipments provide a secure solution for transporting significant volumes of foreign banknotes. The Bank supports transactions involving major international currencies, including USD, GBP, and EUR, ensuring safe handling, efficient processing, and competitive foreign exchange solutions for customers.

To request a Currency Shipment service, applicants are required to provide:

  • An active current account with the Bank
  • A foreign currency account or accounts
  • Supporting invoices for all incoming funds related to the shipment
