Who Is This Account For?
The Minor Savings Account is designed for parents, guardians, or trustees who want to begin saving early and gradually build funds to support a child’s educational journey.
Each year, one eligible account holder is selected for a full scholarship covering tuition, books, and other academic expenses through high school completion.
Note: To qualify for the scholarship draw, the account must maintain a minimum year-end balance of 38,869 XOF.
This account can be opened and managed by:
- A parent, guardian, or trustee
- On behalf of a child aged 8 days to 18 years
To open a Minor Savings Account, applicants are required to provide:
- Valid identification document or passport of the trustee
- Two passport-sized photographs of the parent or guardian
- Completed Know Your Customer (KYC) form
- Proof of residential address
- Resident permit (where applicable)
- Child’s birth certificate or clinic card
- Competitive Interest Rates – Help your child’s savings grow steadily over time
- Semi-Annual Interest Payments – Interest is credited in June and December
- Free Passbook – Monitor savings activity and keep track of account growth easily
- Unlimited Withdrawals – Access funds without withdrawal restrictions
